First stop first time in town and was one of fav spots whole trip. I didn't even feel like fish when entering but bartender recommended the cod tacos and it was one of the best single dishes had in Minneapolis. They had a perfect crisp fry on quality cod and the Lebanese slaw, tar tar sauce, and jalapeno salsa melted me in my seat at first bite how good it was all together. Great natural wines, had to come back again the last day for another round of drinks but sadly had other agenda for food as will have to come back here for any bites or dinner if ever in Minneapolis again, I'm still thinking of those tacos weeks later back home

StepChld has been one of my favorite restaurants since I first dined there in 2021. Went last night with a gal pal who has never been and we had a lovely time. The food was excellent, as always. Our server, Deandra, was delightful. She knew the menu very well and was able to give us honest and helpful recommendations. My favorite dishes include the Ethiopian Birria Tacos, the Lavender Nori Shrimp, the Cooper Burger, the Magic Dust Wings, and the Sweet Potato Fritters.

This has been on my to-try list for a while, and I'm so glad we were finally able to go! I heard about it from all the buzz surrounding Guy's episode here, but I still don't think Stepchld is talked about enough... The vibes are wonderful. The space is much smaller than I was expecting, with an open kitchen and bar area, and it was so fun to watch everything prepared from our seats. It made me wish I could order one of everything. We came for Valentine's day and opted to order off the regular menu instead of the Valentine's day menu, which did look delish. We shared an order of the cauliflower, the copper burger, and the lavender nori shrimp. There was not a single bad bite. The cauliflower has a sweet and sour sauce, served with strawberries, and topped with sesame seeds. I would never have thought to combine sweet & sour with strawberries and lemon, but it works so well. The portion size is also very generous. The copper burger was to die for. The cheese stands out, along with the homemade pickles and aioli. The aioli had a surprising lively flavor that elevates it above the standard smash burger, with just the right amount of kick. It is seriously good and I loved the unique twists. The lavender nori shrimp were my favorite!!! I don't do spice, these are spiccyyyy, and I still could not get enough. You're still able to taste the lavender at the same time, making it the perfect combo. The shrimp are more flavorless, which I loved, and paired so well with all of the flavors in the sauce. I recommend getting a side of the coconut rice to go with it! We ended the meal with a tiramisu which was also really good! Every dish seemed familiar but each with their own twists that really make it special. It's safe to say we'll be back to try everything off the menu.

Dinner review: Recommend reservations, give yourself extra time to find metered parking. Loved the burger (very messy but worth it) and the sweet potato fritters. Tip: order the fritters with your food and eat last as dessert. So sweet and delicious! Other notable items: Best negroni Lavender Mori Shrimp - phenomenal sauce, light lavender (not strong), and the shrimp are flavorless (added just before serving vs simmer in sauce). Cooper Burger is very messy and has a spicy kick. Can get really loud inside, maybe not a good date night spot if you want to talk. Brunch is also amazing!!

This place is beautiful! I went with friends for a weeknight bite and cocktail and it was perfect. The strawberry lemon drop was *chef kiss* - the wings were proper and of course the cooper burger doesn't miss! 100% check this place out!

Had a lovely experience at STEPCHLD. Made a reservation the day before and was seated immediately. The wings were AWESOME. I’m not good with spice, but I didn’t think these were terribly spicy. I ordered the pork belly and coconut rice. It was phenomenal. My partner had the burger and said it was also amazing. We will be back!

You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu! You can just tell that everything is well thought out and every ingredient is purposeful. We love to try burgers around town and this one is one of the best . Those sweet potato fritters... oh, and the WINGS! need to get them (both) every time!

Really enjoyed the cocktails and sweet potato fritters! The magic dust wings were some of the best wings I’ve ever had. I wish they were a little bit spicier, but the crispiness was good. I was happy they were able to split the smash burger meal, For me, it was too much sauce, but the taste was absolutely amazing!
